Ypsilanti School Children
These photos, all from the Ypsilanti Historical Society, show late-nineteenth century black and white students. The first was identified as ‘The Class of 1890, 1885.’ The woman on the bottom left was identified as Wealtha Sherman, a community leader for nearly seven decades in Ypsilanti born in the fugitive Queen’s Bush settlement of Canada and the inspiration for the building of Brown Chapel. The other two photos, clearly from two different dates, are not identified. These are big files and the faces can be viewed up close, do you know who these children are?
Great Project. The Harriet Street School Photo,1928, is from the Harrison-Baylis family archives in Stratford Ontario,Canada, formally of Ypsilanti.

Thanks for your interest. Sounds like two archives have copies of this photos. This was scanned from the Ypsilanti Historical Archive file “School Children.”
